Petition to place a speed bump, stop light or stop sign on the corner of 34th and Chelsea Street

We, the citizens of Jackson Heights Community, City of Tampa and Hillsborough County, petition the City of Tampa and the Hillsborough Highway Dept. and elected officials to install a four-way stop sign, a speed bump, flashing light or red light with camera to cease the dangerous accidents at this intersection of North 34th and East Chelsea Street.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the decision.We want to ensure motorists are following precautionary measures.at the intersection of North 34th and East Chelsea Street due to crashes and near crashes which have occurred in this area. We are concerned for the safety of our children, friend, families and community members.

We respectfully request the completion of a new traffic study at the soonest available time period so that we can make this intersection safer for the residents of the Jackson Height Area as well as others passing through the area.

Increased use of North 34th and East Chelsea Street has resulted in a higher probability that serious crashes will and has occurred at this intersection and it is believed that the signage change would assist in reducing crashes.

We are calling for the immediate remediation of the unsafe conditions at this intersection.
There have been numerous automobile accidents at the intersection of North 34th and East Chelsea Street in Tampa. Installation of a four-way stop sign, a speed bump, flashing light or red light with camera to would greatly diminish the probability of further accidents and/or fatalities.

There have been 10 other wrecks at the intersection since January 2008. On September 2, 2010 3 people Walter & Dione Givens and Helen Cummings lost there lives at this intersection. The intersection of 34th Street and Chelsea Street is unsafe and this concern needs to be addressed immediately before more lives are lost.
