Please Submit Actress Keke Palmer As a Best Actress Academy Awards Nominee in 2006- 2007

We, the undersigned, as fans of actress Lauren "Keke" Palmer, wish to submit this formal request to Lionsgate Studios, & the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences concerning Miss Palmer being considered as a potential nominee for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in the 2006 film "Akeelah & the Bee". We submit this request as a reminder for the Academy not to overlook Miss Palmer's wonderful work in this film.
In the past, Miss Palmer has proved herself a worthwhile recipient of prestigious honors such as her nomination during the 2005 SAG Awards (in which she was the youngest in the Female Actor category) & reception of the 2006 ShoWest Rising Star of the Year Award. These honors can be attributed to her impressive talent & ability to move audiences with her performances.
In "Akeelah & the Bee", Miss Palmer's amazing talent as an actress is even more apparent. Not only was she able to hold her own while performing beside two of Hollywood's most well-respected African-American actors, she demonstrated the ability to give a complex, multi-dimensional performance that was both poignant & moving. Audiences from all over the country who viewed "Akeelah" have expressed how impressed they were by Miss Palmer's natural abilities as an actress. All of her fans would be truly disappointed to see her hard work in this film go unrecognized by the Academy due to the time her film was released.
Miss Palmer deserves a chance at being nominated for this film for the above stated reasons. In addition, if Miss Palmer is nominated, she will be the very first African-American actress under 18 to receive that prestigious honor. A nomination for this talented young lady would be a welcome change in Hollywood history. We as her fans deem this appeal necessary to keep her name & performance in the minds of the Academy voters. We also appeal to Lionsgate Studios to show support for this request by submitting Keke Palmer's performance in "Akeelah" to both the members of the Academy &The Foreign Press Association (Golden Globe Awards).
Please give our request by means of this petition some serious consideration.
