Preservation Shree Haidakhan Babaji Ashram

We, devotees of Shree Haidakhan Babaji, would like to request you to change your plans of building a big dam at Jamrani near Haldwani in Uttarakhand. We see the need and support the construction of several smaller dams. We know that several studies have shown that the geological structure of the mountains in this earthquake prone area would not be able to withstand the pressure of such a large mass of water. We fear for a disaster threatening the loss of life of many in Haldwani town and surrounding area. We also would be very saddened as the temple built more then 100 years ago with the hands of the spiritual saint Shree 1008 Shree Haidakhan Baba, world wide known as Babaji would be submerged together with his ashram where every year still thousands of people gather to celebrate the Divine. We do understand the need for such a dam and therefore propose you to deepen your studies in a project where several smaller dams would diminish the danger considerably.
