We, the undersigned, support the remastering and publication of the 1957 live television performance of Cinderella starring Julie Andrews, Jon Cypher, Edith Adams, Alice Ghostley, Kaye Ballard et al. These stars who worked so hard for that once in a lifetime performance, deserve to have their work decently archived and available to the fans who want to own a copy of the movie. It is a work of art, a product of months of tremendous hard work by the actors and the producers for one night of entertainment at its best and purest. The music has survived the test of time and now it's time for the actual performance to be restored using the available technology. This was a true live performance on the grand scale of a Broadway show but made for television. It deserves to be preserved for posterity. Don't let it go the way of most Broadway productions, which are never recorded and therefore lost for all time after the curtains close. This production of Cinderella must and should be restored and published. It should not be left to the hands of pirates to distribute poor reproductions of what should be a classic on every movie shelf in the world. Cinderella (1957) is more than a mere historical novelty. The videotape of this movie should do more than just gather dust in museum archives. It is worth re-mastering for publication. Please re-master and publish Cinderella 1957 before it is lost. Do it for the fans and for posterity.
