SAVE GAMBLER'S TREATMENT CENTERS

We strongly believe that as New York State enjoys profits from state-sponsored gambling, i.e. O.T.B., State Lotteries, etc., that New York State has an obligation to treat those who become addicted to gambling.
The Gambling Treatment Center of Richmond University Medical Center (formerly St. Vincents Hospital) currently maintains offices in Staten Island, Manhattan and Queens, staffed by just a few gambling-addiction trained treatment counselors. Even minimum budget and/or staff cuts would signal the ruination of this small, but potentially effective and life-saving program.
Families and communities are entitled to treatment to combat the devastating effects that compulsive gambling brings to the families and the community, especially as the State sponsors gambling in the form of State Lotteries, and Off Track Betting Parlors.
Please assist us in our efforts to prevent proposed staff and budget cuts to the Gambling Treatment Centers.
