Stoke on Trent City Council has proposed the closure of Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre by April 2012 as outlined in their budget cuts. This is a decision that will affect 100's of young people and adults accross Stoke on Trent. The implications of the closure of the centre are massive, and will lead to many young people within Stoke on Trent missing out on the vital and amazing experience of indepedence and freedom provided by a 1 week residential at Stanley Head.
The centre has been an asset to the City of Stoke for over 40 years, providing high quality outdoor adventurous activities for young people and adults of all ages.
We the undersigned ask that you reconsider the decision to close Stanley Head, by closing the centre you are denying young people accross Stoke the trip of a lifetime, not just for the fun, but for the development every young person under goes from experiencing independence away from home for the first time.

During 2010 I had visited the site three times with my son on lads and dads bonding weekends. With the help of the dedicated staff many activities from climbing through to archery. All of which helped us both get closer to one another. The weekends helped
