Save the Creamery

A Petition to request the reconsideration of the closing of the original Penn State Creamery on the University Park Campus:

We stand opposed to the closing of the old Creamery and believe that traditions such as the old Creamery should be celebrated and revered, not replaced. While the new Food Science Building will be a great addition to Penn State, there is one component of the project that cannot be ignored; with the opening of the Berkey Creamery the current Creamery location will be closed. While this has not been the focus of the building plan, we believe it is a serious flaw.

While we fully recognize and support the benefits that moving production facilities to the new Creamery will bring, we ask that the old tradition not be destroyed in the process. We strongly encourage Penn State to reevaluate its Master Plan and keep the old Creamery open as a branch location.

Therefore:

We, the undersigned, request that the Administration and Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania State University reevaluate the Master Plan and keep the old Creamery open as a branch location; preserving the tradition and history of the Penn State Creamery.
