The decision to close the Gynae Ward in Letterkenny General Hospital without thought or discussion is an insult to the women of the county.Apart from the Maternity Unit, the Gynae Ward is the sole "female only" unit in Letterkenny.This female-only environment provides a haven for women and their families who are experiencing the trauma of miscarriage whilst offering a "walk-in" service for women who may be concerned about the health of their pregnancies.
