Dear Students,
The "prank" that you may have witnessed or heard about was not a prank at all. It is not funny when the initial reaction of students and adults is fear. Those individuals stormed the cafeteria in terrorist fashion wearing black clothing, ski masks, bandanas and brandishing toy guns that in a chaotic moment looked like real weapons. I had teachers in tears and for a moment I had to contemplate how much force to use.. They are fortunate that they didn't get shot if our SRO did not get a clear picture of their intent.
These individuals entered what is supposed to be a safe environment without permission. They were trespassing.
These individuals disrupted our learning environment. 2,000 students are now focusing on this event and not their final exams.
Right now, these eleven individuals are in the conference room behind my office. I can hear them laughing as the sheriffs dept. completes their paperwork. I really doubt they will think it is humorous after the charges are levied against them. Besides the charges, they will be issued a No-Trespass warrant and will never be allowed to step on campus again. If this event happened in Columbine today I doubt they would think it was humorous. Particularly the parents of the children killed.
This act was dispicable.
Students... On a second note, I want to thank you for a wonderful year. I will continue to do everything within my power to help SC continue in the right path. Have a wonderful, safe summer.

That was the letter sent around Space Coast Junior/Senior High School about the senior prank...

This wasn't Columbine! It was nothing close to Columbine! How can you mistake a neo colored water gun for a real hand-gun? Considering the time that this whole thing happend, I don't think that many students thought that it was anything close to a terriorist attack! What else are you to expect from a first graduating class?! It has to be something good...and it was!
