Scoliosis Testing

We the undersigned, as residents of the United States of America, are concerned that our public schools are not required to test students for scoliosis. Scoliosis affects 2\% of females and .5\% of males, many of whom are diagnosed between the 5th and 12th grades. It is possible that the numbers are much higher, but many cases have not been diagnosed. Because students are not tested, diagnosis is often delayed, some times even by many years. If not caught treated in the early stages, the only option is often surgery. We ask that scoliosis testing be made mandatory in a public schools for all grades.
