We - the residents of Bear Creek Township, motorists who travel SR 115, concerned citizens and stakeholders - petition state legislators to urge PennDOT to implement IMMEDIATE changes to improve the overall safety of State Route 115 including, but not limited to, the possibility of installing rumble strips in the turning lane in front of the Bear Creek Community Charter School for motorists traveling north on Route 115, lowering the speed limit on SR 115 to 35 mph between the traffic light at the Turnpike and The Seven Tubbs Nature Area, adding additional signage to make motorists aware of the speed limit reduction, and increasing speed enforcement by the Pennsylvania State Police. With 3 accidents and 2 fatalities occurring within the last week on the same section of SR 115, it is clear that the current safety measures are insufficient and we request that action take place IMMEDIATELY to prevent the loss of another life.
