Stop speeding on Thornton Road

I have created this petition in order to hopefully put a stop to the outrageous driving that takes place on Thornton Road.
I am relating specifically to the stretch of road from St. James church to the swimming baths as this is the area we mainly frequent, however I am certain the whole main road is affected.
The speeds at which vehicles come flying down the road are ludicrous, school children use this road everyday and it is just not safe.
Safety measures of some sort need to be put in place, whether that be islands or crossings or for a footpath to be placed at the wall side of the road.
In signing this petition you will be voicing your opinion in the hope that something can be done.
