The Introduction of Mandatory Random Drug and Alcohol Testing, for all Canadian Politicians at all levels of Government.

A recent decision was made regarding Toronto Transit Commission employees and the status of their jobs being "Safety Sensitive", and therefore can be subjected to Random Drug and Alcohol Screening. This same process has existed within the Trucking Industry for many years. Canadian Armed Forces Members are also screened for Drugs and Alcohol. So with all of these occupations I have mentioned being tested because of their Safety aspects. I believe the next logical step is to have our Politicians (Federal, Provincial and Municipal) become subjected to Random Drug and Alcohol Testing. Why? Well for similar reason I mentioned in the beginning. I firmly believe a Politicians Job is "Safety Sensitive", at the Federal Level they may have to react to a volatile situation-e.g. -Terrorism, International Complications (threat of immediate War) and Infrastructure Collapse, all require sound judgment and clarity to act in the safest way for their citizens. These dynamics Terrorism, International Complications and Infrastructure Collapse, all require the soundest judgment all the time. During times of calamity or crisis, the Federal Government communicates with the Province and the Municipalities, the Province and the Municipalities also coordinate. In my opinion the Technology to test for Drugs and Alcohol has been available for many years, but those in Government (all Levels and all Parties) have failed to lead by example and watched as the people for who they work for become subjected to Testing. So lets all make them Lead by Example. Random Drug and Alcohol Testing for ALL Canadian Politicians NOW!!
