i. Preface
Life As We Know it, affectionally known as LAWKI is a show that covers the modern lives of our youth. This series is actually so accurate that big brother wants to close it down. I guess the FCC is afraid that a show of this caliber could claim victory over fake teen dramas.
ii. Goal(s)
This petition is in direct response to the FCC's attempts to shut Life As We Know It down and the negative effects that the broadcaster ABC inflicts upon this series. The company has stopped playing the show for more than two(2) weeks at a time while they do not hinder the development of their other shows that air on this network.
I am asking you to please sign this petition so that we can counter the current FCC petition and tell ABC that we want this show and it should not be in constant fear of being canceled or not being given ample air-time.
iii. Counter-Petition
The ABC network does provide viewers with a rating guideline at the beginning of the show which puts it within legal reason. Any further harassment of said show is in direct conflict with our well-known freedom of artistic expression. Life As We Know It is just being attacked because parents are too lazy to monitor their children's television habits, therefore, the FCC's petition should be marked as a direct attack on our vital freedoms that unite our people together, and this should not be tolerated on any level.
iiii. ABC's detrimental effects
While other shows are being given proper air time Life As We Know It has suffered much down-time and now a time change which directly puts it in danger of a dramatic rating decrease. ABC has already made public if the show does not keep up with others in terms of ratings they will cancel the series to keep the mass media pleased. However, it is impossible to tell what kind of ratings this show would gain because it's constantly being held down by the network which airs it. ABC should acknowledge this and make an attempt to give the show a fighting chance, because we the people greatly enjoy this show and hope it can withstand the test of time.
