The prevention of cruelty to dolphins in Japanese waters

Dear People,
A friend of mine and I were recently discussing the situation and plight of the dolphin in the waters around the island of Japan. As we all know the Japanese are notorious for their like of raw fish but raw mammal is something I dont think was on the menu. These intelligent and beautiful creatures are at risk from the fishing fleet of Japan, in and around the coral reefs out there they corner the poor defenseless creature and then proceed to impale them on these huge hook like structures. Not only is this bad enough but these poor creatures are left to die a slow and painful death on the deck of the boat while letting its blood seep out into the ocean, its sick, disgusting and most of all INHUMANE. I for one am sick of the Japanese being the only race of "people" (and I use this term lightly) not to have banned this most heinous of crimes. I do believe that we, the rest of society, can make a difference, so please sign the petition and help stop the pain and suffering.
