We, the undersigned, are concerned that a group of walkers are lobbying to have the Harrow Way Byway (Overton, Hampshire) closed to vehicles. I understand their main concern is vehicular damage and illegal motorcyclists.
I am a motorcyclist who has enjoyed this byway legally and should not be punished due to the action of others. No legislation will prevent illegal riders but the issue of damage can be resolved by forbidding the use of the byway to vehicles with more than 3 wheels. This restriction has worked to great effect in Alton.
There are hundreds of miles of footpath in the area, this is one of the few byways left open for us to enjoy, cant the ramblers take another route?
