A Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for the actress Penelope Keith.

We the undersigned request that the television actress Penelope Keith is made a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Penelope Keith was born on 2nd April 1940 and is a household name with a whole list of television credits to her name. She has created five memorable sitcom roles, Margo Leadbetter in The Good Life (1975-1978), Audrey fforbes-Hamilton in To The Manor Born (1979-1981), Caroline Fielding in Executive Stress (1986-1988), Jean Price in No Job for a Lady (1990-1992) and Maggie Prentice in Next of Kin (1995-1997). Penelope won five TVTimes awards for five consecutive years running (1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980) and also won Bafta Best Tv actress award for two years running (1978, 1979). She is probably the all time best female actress in comedy with Patricia Routledge coming second. It would be great if we could see Penelope back on our screens in the near future with another classic sitcom role to her name.

Penelope has already received an OBE for her services to acting, but we feel it is time to make her a Dame.
