A Return to the Original Recipe of "Cinnamon Toast Crunch"

1. Cinnamon flavor. The current, inferior recipe of the cereal lacks a pungent cinnamon flavor. There is barely enough cinnamon flavor to be able to legally classify the cereal as cinnamon flavored. By contrast, the old recipe was ripe with not only the flavor of real cinnamon, but also featured the grainy texture of "cinnamon toast." Nowadays, this abrasive and highly pleasing texture has been replaced with a much subdued and "flatter" texture.
2. Toast nature. The current, inferior recipe of the cereal lacks a true toast-like nature. What was once a much "toastier" recipe is now what can be called "doughier." This is a matter of internal texture. The old recipe was in this respect superior.
3. Crunch factor. The current, inferior recipe of the cereal lacks it's original type of crunch, which was a very distinct crunch as opposed to the current one. The current crunch is very soft, which is displeasing. This is due in large part to the "puffier" nature of the new recipe. There is too much air inside each flake of the new recipe, resulting in not only a subdued crunch, but also in maximum flavor potential for each spoonful of flakes. The old recipe had no such problem. In fact, the dense nature of each flake of the old recipe resulted in a longer preservation of the flakes in milk. In other words, it took longer for the flakes to get soggy.
These factors, when taken seperately, are enough of a travesty. However, when taken collectively, as they are in the new recipe of "Cinnamon Toast Crunch", the effect is devestating. What was once the pinnacle of the breakfast experience has become simply one of thousands of mediocre cereals now touted on the basis of clever commercials and brightly designed boxes. We the people are convinced that the only way to rectify this situation is not to simply alter the current recipe to more closely resemble that of the old, but to completely scrap the new recipe altogether in favor of the old, unaltered recipe. The old recipe of "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" was a crucial part of American (and indeed, worldwide) identity and childhood memory. We love it, we need it, and we miss it.
