A Safer Texas

This petition is created to change the Texas state laws on sexual offenders. This petition asks that tougher laws be considered to prevent future abductions and the thousands of other children abducted by these criminals. We must do something as the cause for concern is now reaching into community. We ask first, to the Governor of the State of Texas, to enact a law that would provide stricter conditions for those who commit horrible crimes on our children.


The Department of Corrections should require all offenders to be monitored in several or all ways.

A. Home Labeling: We must mark the sex offenders' homes. This way, families and individuals in general would know where is and isn't safe, along with who is and isn't safe.

B. Mileage Law: Texas needs to adopt the mileage law from Iowa. Their law states that every child sex offender cannot live within 2,000 miles of daycares and schools. Richardson, Texas has already partially adopted that law (1,000 miles instead of 2,000), and now is 98\% sex offender-free, making the citizens there safer. The rest of the state of Texas must follow suit, to help protect the things most precious to us: our children.


We must make these laws to deter sex offenders from committing a first or even second offense, and to protect the whole state of Texas from. I ask that you sign this petition.
