We,the undersigned, are asking for a STAY OF EXECUTION for George Everett Sibley on the grounds of the following:

-THE LAW OF RESISTING ARREST...
Besides having the right to make an arrest, people have the right to resist unlawful arrest in some circumstances even if that means KILLING the arresting officer.
The famous 1900 Supreme Court case of John Bad Elk vs.United States remains law today.
John Bad Elk, a police officer, killed another police officer, John Kills Back, who tried to arrest him on an Indian reservation in South Dakota. At first, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to hang.
However, the case was appealed to the Supreme Court, which ruled that
a person has a right to resist an unlawful arrest with any force and means
necessary. Since John Kills Back was ordered to arrest John Bad Elk without
a reason or charge against him, John Bad Elk said he shot the other
officer in self-defense after he saw John Kills Back reach for his revolver.

Its also legal to resist arrest if a warrant for the arrest is not technically valid or if it isnt issued by affidavit, a sworn
statement made in front of an officer or judge.

-The Police Officer drew his service revolver WITHOUT JUST CAUSE. George Sibley himself was wounded.

-George Sibley shot at the Police Officer because he REALIZED the Officer was going to shoot him while he was trying to produce documents to explain why he did not have a driver's licence.

-Even though George Sibley apparently shot first..he was CO-ERCED into doing so by the Police Officer's dangerous and irresponsible RE-ACTION to the answer he received in reply to a request he had made. It was never proved that George Sibley actually caused the Police Officer's death.

-George Sibley has been HINDERED in working on his case because documents he needs have not been acquired, as yet. He is still trying to obtain them.
His intent is to clear both his and Lynda Lyon's names.
