Aaliyah Funeral Expenses

According to a Fox 5 (NY) news report it seems that Virgin Records stated t that they would be honored to pay for Aaliyah's funeral. Ken Berry, the man who made the initial promise, has now been replaced by Alan Levy, who to this date has not paid for Aaliyah's funeral and is refusing to accept her mother's calls according to Fox 5. Even if Ken Berry is no longer with the company he represented Virgin at the time, and he gave the word of the company that they would handle it. The reporter ended the segment by saying that he is reporting on this in hopes that Alan Levy sees the report and is shamed into paying what should have been paid long ago.

Aaliyah's memory has suffered enough after her death, first with the comments by Star of Hot 97 (and the current airplay of Rock the Boat which has been reported to be followed by more rude comments by Star and crash sounds at the conclusion of the song), to the article by Rod Dreher and the Post's refusal to print Aaliyahonline's rebuttal, to the loss of her website - Aaliyah2001, and the lack of support for her new single at radio and TRL (there's no one to make appearences, no known label publicity, no one to pay for radiofinderizer - who at this time hasn't responded to a pro-bono request by her fans). Her fans have carried on the legacy to make her #1 on BET's 106 and Park - all on their own - Her memory has suffered enough.

We are starting this petition to bring awareness to this issue of her funeral not being paid for by Virgin Records.
