Respectfully requests That New Zealand/ Aoteroa become a military free country by abolishing the New Zealand Defense Force which includes the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Army, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force and to break whatever military contracts it has with weapon manufacturers overseas and with the suppliers from the European Union (E.U) and United States of America. We also request that the money (as of 2010/2011 $3.299 billion according to http://www.interest.co.nz/news/53506/budget-2011-defence) that would otherwise be used for funding the New Zealand Defense Force should then be allocated to funding renewable energy and Off the Grid projects nationwide over the course 6 years minimum. Renewable Energy and Off the Grid Projects proposed: - Providing all low income households, hospitals and local medical clinics with the means to be able to generate all the required energy to power there households and buildings renewably i.e. solar power (solar panels, photovoltaic paint, parabolic solar dishes that follow the movement of the sun through each day), wind power (Urban Green Energy's eddyGT 1kW vertical axis wind turbine is a good example such as those that were established in a St. Louis suburb, Missouri, U.S.A) by 2015. Towns such as Wildpoldsried, Germany (which is a productive energy-efficient agriculture village is capable of generating 321% more energy than it needs) and the St. Louis suburb stated above are prime examples of off the grid settlements and so should be taken into account. - Once those three sectors are ‘off the grid’, move to provide all housing city by city nationwide with the capability to go ‘off the grid’ by 2020. In New Zealand approximately 70% of electricity comes from renewable energy, primarily hydro-power and geothermal power. The 70% share of renewable energy sources makes New Zealand one of the lowest carbon dioxide emitting countries in terms of electricity generation. Lets take the next step and make New Zealand able to generate 100% of its electricity through renewable energy sources and through off the grid technologies decreasing our reliance on the ever aging main national power grid.
