ABS-CBN: Fire Willie Revillame and/or Accept his Resignation

On the May 4, 2010 episode of ABS-CBN's noontime show "Wowowee", the main host Willie Revillame gave a fiery and foul remark on live national television, threatening ABS-CBN that he will resign from the network if radio host-columnist Jobert Sucaldito will not be removed. The host was angry at the columnist because of the latter's seemingly unstoppable criticisms against the former's show and its contestants.

As a concerned citizen who wants nothing but the best programming for the Filipino people, we'd like to petition to ABS-CBN management to do the first job in removing the arrogant Wowowee host, as the network should be beholden to its viewers, and not to the power-tripping talents who think that their show is their kingdom or republic. If the network has to choose, it should be beholden to its viewing public, and not to Willie Revillame.

Willie's claim maybe correct (i.e. that he has brought in lots of money for the network), but it is a mutually beneficial relationship, as he also enjoys a handsome talent fee.

Note that this petition is not meant to flatter or side with Jobert Sucaldito, as his comments cannot really be considered to be wrong. However, since the format of Sucaldito's radio show is a commentary, it is the columnist's right to give his criticisms on air provided that the choice of words are not in the form of "badmouthing", unlike the actions of Willie Revillame that are very irresponsible, arrogant and foul.

ABS-CBN Management, DO NOT BE THREATENED BY WILLIE REVILLAME. FIRE HIM IF NECESSARY, OR ACCEPT HIS RESIGNATION.
