Act 222

The employees of Geisinger are going to be taxed $52 by Mahoning Township for Act 222 of 2004, the Emergency and Municipal Services Tax. The Geisinger Health System already contributes close to $1,000,000 to Mahoning Township, Montour County, and the Danville School District to help cover the cost of Municipal Services. The Mahoning Township Supervisors have publicly stated the tax will go towards paying off their new township building, not Emergency or Municipal Services. We would like the Geisinger Administration to suspend their payment to Mahoning Township, Montour County, and the Danville Area School District in protest of the $52 tax.
