Affordable Housing in New York City

To: Mayor Bloomberg and all Council Members

Affordable housing is an issue that needs to be dealt with immediately. As economic disparity continues to grow, homelessness increases. Low-income families count on affordable housing in order to survive. If they arent granted affordable housing, they arent able to afford certain essentials to help them survive such as: food, clothing, and medical bills. Its significant that we have a program that could help low-income families get affordable housing. The Inclusionary Housing Program (IHP) is a program thats best suited for the job, because it forces developers to reserve 20 percent of affordable housing without tax exemption benefits. This is the program we need to help produce results. Sign the petition if you want to see more affordable housing become available.
