Kompleks stare fabrike 'Petar Drapšin' u Novom Sadu, poznatiji kao 'Kineska četvrt' (iako u njoj ne živi niti jedan kinez), je u realnoj opasnosti od potpunog planskog uništenja! Ova izvanredna urbana celina, sastavljena od preko 10 većih objekata industrijske arhitekture iz sredine XX veka (uz nekoliko trošnih baraka izgrađenih nešto kasnije), predstavlja ne samo deo kulturne baštine koja svedoči o razvoju grada, već jedan urbani mikro-kosmos sa izuzetnim potencijalom koji je do danas, uprkos vremenu i planovima za rušenje, uspeo da opstane u svom bezmalo originalnom izdanju.
Kinesku četvrt treba REVITALIZOVATI i SAČUVATI, ne SRUŠITI!
Mi, dole potpisani, ovom peticijom se čvrsto zalažemo za zabranu rušenja 'Kineske četvrti' i za klasifikovanje ovog kompleksa kao kulturno dobro u cilju njegovog očuvanja.
Complex of an old factory 'Petar Drapšin' in Novi Sad, Serbia, known as 'China town' (even though there is no one Chinese person living there), is in serious danger of complete and planned destruction. This extraordinary urban complex, composed of more than 10 big industrial buildings from the middle of XX century (with addition of several frail barracks that were built a bit later), represents not only the part of cultural heritage that witnesses the city development, but an urban micro-cosmos with huge potential that have managed to resist the time and several destruction plans in its almost original state.
This complex should be REVITALIZED and PRESERVED, not DESTROYED!
We the undersigned strongly crusade for the distraint of demolition of this complex and for its classification as a cultural good in order to preserve it.
