Did you know that if you have sexual relations with someone of the same sex, then you cannot give blood?
Did you also know that if you have sexual relations with someone of the same sex and then that person has sexual relations with someone of the opposite sex, then they too cannot give blood for six months.
I personally think this is wrong, and that those who are gay are being punished for what (for most people) is not a lifestyle choice they've made, it's who they were born to be!
In a time when there is a massive decline in the amount of people giving blood, now is not the time for the government to be segregating society based on an ancient law that has no moral standing in 2011 society.
Therefore, this petition is to give a big shout out to the government and say that it's time to change!
We're proud of who we are and deserve the right to be treated like any other person, and want the chance to help those who need it most!
