According to recent reports, the Pentagon sent a letter to Jordan Fox demanding that he pay back $3000 of his enlistment bonus after suffering injuries from firefights and an IED explosion that knocked him unconscious and left him blind in his left eye. The reason was due to the fact that he was unable to return to combat.
Since this news report originally aired, the Army has withdrawn its request to Jordan Fox. However, there are likely many others who have received similar demands and complied out of a sense of helplessness or obligation.
We, the undersigned, hereby request that the United States Congress take the steps necessary to ensure that veterans injured in the line of duty are not required to return enlistment bonuses, and that an investigation be carried out to determine if any similar demands have been made of our brave American veterans.
