65 is the retirement age for ambulance staff (depending on birth year). Carrying patients, 12 hour shifts, night shifts and the emotion/mental strain of what we deal with. This needs to be brought in line with firefighters and Gardai. There is evidence that ambulance staff have a mortality rate of 2 years post retirement, will suffer poor physical health from years of providing a frontline emergency service. Reduce the retirement age. We are also one of the lowest paid workers in the HSE and have not received pay comparatively with our continued advancement of skills and responsibilities.

Reduce retirement age and increase pay for ambulance personnel. Please sign and support your local ambulance personnel. Petition will be submitted to government.
