America Accepts Diversity

This petition is applicable to any number of situations. In particular it is a response to the way Constance McMillen was treated regarding her high school prom. We want Constance to know that many Americans disagree with the way she was treated.

Many different groups of people came together and decided that instead of persecuting each other based on their differences, they would form a nation where everyone could live side by side in peace. Understanding that each individual person is different from everyone else is what America is all about and is the spirit in which America was founded. It is also what being alive is all about, since while machines may be a rubber stamp of each other, each living creature is unique. I hereby state that as an American, and as a human being, while I might not understand everyone else, and while everyone else might not understand me, this is not a reason for conflict, but rather an opportunity to enjoy life's mysteries and diversity.
