American Airlines to relaunch direct flights to Birmingham (BHX)

American Airlines started flights to Birmingham on 26 May 1995 with the Chicago-Birmingham route using a Boeing 767-200. Due to popular demand, the service was upgraded to a Boeing 767-300. Sadly in 2002, the service was axed due to the business community not using the service enough. The load factors were very high and the service had gathered lots of support from the Midlands community.
This petition is needed to provide a voice for the people within the Midlands and wider region who have ties in the United States. This service should be relaunched as a daily service with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. People should regard this service as not only a final destination but as a gateway offering opportunities for West Midlands travellers to reach the whole of the US.
