In the latest version of 'The Amityville Horror', the pig has been replaced by a little girl. Jodie the demonic pig that appears at the little girl of the Lutz family's bedroom window was one of the most defining and chilling parts of the original story.
The replacement of this fine character is such a clichй of modern Hollywood horror, and the pig to me and many others was detrimental to my enjoyment of the film. In fact, you could say that this little twist on the original narrative automatically renders the film unbearable, insulting and upsetting.
In the DVD release, I would like to see an option to replace the girl with a pig, even if it is just a still image, or a free sticker to place on the TV screen in the appropriate scenes.
