Respected Hon.able Representatives of India,
It is extremely appalling to know that the State Government of Tamil Nadu aims at replacing the present exhibition of Vivekananda Illam. Vivekananda Illam, which stands now near the Marina beach, Chennai, stands as an important monument that reflects Indian culture and heritage and the inspiring life of its chief exponent in the modern times, Swami Vivekananda.
The decision on this replacement of Vivekananda Illam, is to the distaste of a large section of India especially, the youth of India and admirers and followers of Swami Vivekananda.
As the responsible citizens of India, this matter is of grave concern to us and we urge you to support and assist Ramakrishna Math in continuing the Good work of Exhibition in Vivekananda Illam. We reiterate that the centre representing Tamil culture is always welcomed by everyone of us, but NOT at the cost of the existing monument, which represents our national pride and culture. We would like to demand that the contract to the RK Math must be extended further, which would help them in continuing their great and selfless work.
