Andrew Johnson for England

The England Football Team and their manager, Sven Gцran Eriksson will be taking either four or five strikers as part of a twenty three man squad to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. With Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Peter Crouch almost certain to be chosen, there will be either one or two vacant spaces that require filling.

Should injuries occur to Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney, England will need to call upon a player of similar quality, goalscoring ability and intelligence. We believe that the man most capable of fulfilling that role is Andrew Johnson of Crystal Palace FC.

Andrew finished as the top English goalscorer in a struggling Crystal Palace side during last season's Premiership campaign and has 13 goals to date this season, despite missing almost four months of it through injury. He has skill, blistering pace, fantastic movement off the ball, and exceptional finishing ability.

This petition will be sent to The FA Headquarters one week before Mr Eriksson announces his England World Cup squad.
