Award the Stanley Cup for 2004-05

As concerned fans of Hockey, we are gathering together to promote the necessity to add the best team of the 2004-2005 season to the Stanley Cup. At its inception, the Stanley Cup was not awarded to an NHL franchise, but to an AHA (Amateur Hockey Association) team, the Montreal AAAs in 1893. In the rules governing the Stanley Cup, Lord Stanley himself said, The Cup was not to be the property of any given team or league at any given time. With the recent court win that allows the Trustees to award the Cup to non-NHL teams when prolonged periods of stoppage occur, we must rectify the situation. With this in mind, as well as the fact of there not being an NHL champion in 2004-05, we would like to add the CHL Memorial Cup Champion London Knights to Lord Stanleys Cup. Setting numerous records and having perhaps the all around best CHL season ever, the London Knights deserve to be awarded this, and acknowledged as the best team of the 2004-05 season.
