Axe all American drama series on Channel 4 and Channel 5 and put them on BBC-1 and ITV-1 where they would gain larger audiences.

There are some great American drama series on Channel 4 and Channel 5 respectively. In terms of quality they are brilliant but in terms of popularity (how many viewers in the millions are watching them) they are crap and it is only because 1) they are shown on two minor television channels and 2) put on at ridiculous times. The scheduling department at both Channel 4 and Channel 5 haven't got a bloody clue on how to schedule programmes and the best programmes on Channel 4 and Channel 5 are been messed around all the time. The Sopranos, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, Nip Tuck, Six Feet Under, CSI, Law and Order, The Shield and Boomtown are all well written and well acted and put 75\% of todays homegrown drama series to shame in terms of quality. The other thing regarding American drama series is there isn't one on at all at some point throughout the year and then all of a sudden they all come along at once - typical of both Channel 4 and Channel 5 scheduling bosses. What gave me this idea to transfer all American drama series from Channel 4 and Channel 5 to BBC-1 and ITV-1 is back in the early nineties they had LA Law on ITV-1 on Thursday nights at 9pm which was an American drama series and if I remember rightly we also had programmes like Dallas, Dynasty, and Fame on BBC-1. The point I am trying to make here is how come certain American programmes can end up on our two major networks and others don't. It would be an excellent idea to transfer all American drama series onto our two major networks that way it would be a step forward to axing Channel 4 and Channel 5 altogether because as I have already said in a previous petition Channel 4 and Channel 5's output in general is diabolical.
