Ban the GOP
I think it's time for a constitutional amendment banning the Republican Party in California. The party and many of its members suffer from a dearth of morals.
They are patriotic only by wearing their lapel pins; they support torture, corporations terrorizing the environment, shipping jobs overseas, overthrowing legitimate governments, nonpayment of taxes that strengthen our infrastructure, nonsupport of schools.
They oppose freedom of speech, disapprove of science and believe in invasion of privacy in the home and the bedroom.
Since the aforementioned party is a minority in the state, passing an amendment to the state constitution should be easy. Maybe we could ship them back where they came from, if we could find the giant rock they crawled out from under.
- Jim Williams, Fair Oaks
This amendment does not propose deporting Republicans as Mr. Williams does, instead it proposes revoking their right to marriage. The proposed amendment reads as follows:
SECTION 1. Title
This measure shall be known and may be cited as the "California Marriage Protection of Discrimination Act."
SECTION 2.
Article I, Section 7.5 is added to the California Constitution, to read: Sec. 7.5. Only marriage between two people, neither being registered with the Republican party, is valid or recognized in California.
