Restaurant servers need your help! The government is stealing us blind. We are being taxed 8 to 10\% on our total sales no matter how much we make in tips.
This is appalling!
When we apply for a loan or any kind of credit, the lender does not accept gratuities as a valid source of income.
We are never guaranteed a tip, no matter how hard we work.
This form of wage stealing has got to stop. Servers are being forced to claim an uncertain income and actually end up paying the restaurant to allow them to work. If servers do not claim enough money the IRS "allocates" an amount that is right for them and we have to pay.
Please help stop this insane method of thievery and sign this petition. It will help a lot of hard working people keep the money that they earn, they have the right to keep it!

I agree wholeheardetly. I am not in the kind of job where tips are an issue, but tips are a token of gratitude from client to employee and should be at the discretion of those parties and nobody else.

Ya!! That sucks to have TIPS taxed. think about it Tips are given to the person for the good work they did. It is like when you give your friend $5.00 for giving you a lift to the store. But that is not taxed. HUH! Strange.

Yes, I remember that, it was the worst time of my life. I was stuck making $2 an hour and if I didn't get crap for tips, the government would take more money from me, as if i did something wrong...

It really does suck when you see that your checks are like 23 to 40 dollars .... some servers do not even get a check if they recieve crappy insurance. So either stop taxing our tips or make 20 percent gratuity on all checks manditory.
