Word around campus is that administration is attempting to change our contract with Dr Pepper to a contract with Coca-Cola. While those who aren't fans of the 23 flavors of goodness won't find this too disturbing, think about all things Baylor attached with Dr Pepper. Signs on our athletic fields, Dr Pepper Hour (Dr Pepper Floats in general), commemorative Dr Pepper items with Baylor logos on them, all the Dr Pepper drink stands used on Baylor's campus, etc.

As you are all aware, Homecoming underwent a drastic change in 2007 when the eternal flame was extremely mishandled by students and groups involved, then unnecessarily vilified in the days following the Freshman Mass Meeting. While it's understandable that measures had to be taken to prevent further injury or illegal acts, it is not understandable to remove the tradition (a foundation of Baylor's Homecoming activities) altogether.

As heard directly from members of administration, the last time you will see Sailor Bear as a Baylor logo during President Lilley's term will be for "Old School" Diadeloso 2008. For those who don't know, Sailor Bear is the only logo reserved specifically for student organizations. As a student, and a member of an organization here on campus, I feel like a right granted to me originally has been revoked without my consent.

Also heard directly from administration:
THE INTERLOCKING BU WILL BE REPLACED BY THE TEXT "BAYLOR" STARTING WITH THE 2008 FOOTBALL SEASON.
The interlocking BU on the basketball courts is being replaced, the football helmets are different, everything is changing except midfield of Floyd Casey Stadium (because it's too expensive to replace).
