Bethany speaks out!

Dear Board of Elders,
The following group of members and friends of Bethany have signed this petition to confirm that we believe the mission of our church is "To glorify God by making Disciples of Jesus Christ. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to reach out cross-culturally, winning, equipping, and empowering people for ministry." We also believe that Pastor Tim was called by God to lead our church and that his ministry is and has been in line with Bethany's mission as stated. We now realize that there are a group of members who feel differently about Pastor Tim's ministry and about the mission of Bethany.
Since they are a small group in a large church body, we want you to know that there are so many others in our midst who believe that God has been doing amazing things under Pastor Tim's leadership.
We would like to suggest the following:
Let's continue to let that small group of people have their own service at 11am; one that will meet their more traditional needs. We could also hire a pastor that they feel is more suitable.
In addition, we think the timing is right to introduce a new service time and a more contemporary style service for those of us listed here. Along with this new direction, we would encourage the Elders to invite Pastor Tim to be the Senior Pastor of this new and exciting ministry. It's time for a change. We have a desire to follow God and further fulfill the mission of Bethany Baptist Church. Please prayerfully consider our petition.
