RE: The proliferation of bots within World of Warcraft
We the undersigned have become increasingly appalled and frustrated by the lack of customer support regarding cheaters using third-party software to farm within World of Warcraft.
These bots will automatically farm areas twenty-four hours a day with little input from an actual player, decreasing prices in the auction houses and rendering the hard work of all honest players as useless. They also force many genuine players out of rich farming areas due to the ceaseless, inhuman and unfair competition.
Blizzards own Exploitation Policy states that:
"A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the World of Warcraft software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game..."
And that:
"If a player is found to have used such a program, he/she may:
Be temporarily suspended from the game
Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the program "
And yet numerous complaints to GMs go unheeded, all forums posts are deleted and months after first appearing on our servers these cheaters continue to proliferate.
Therefore, we are asking that Blizzard take decisive action against these accounts before the problem becomes so severe that anyone not using a third-party program to automatically farm will stand little chance of accumulating any kind of wealth and the mechanics and the spirit of the game is ruined beyond repair.
