We are the liberal citizens of the Eugene Springfield metropolitan area. We are certain that there is a market for talk/news radio in our community just as there is in Portland Oregon. Cumulus Broadcasting owns KPOJ in Portland and has adopted the Air America Network. It is difficult if not impossible to receive a clear signal of AM 620 in Eugene Oregon.
As the owner of several radio stations in the Eugene Springfield metro area you know the competitive environment of talk radio. Today all talk radio except your station KUGN for a three-hour time slot is conservative talk broadcasters. KPNW is the host of Rush Limbaugh and you can beat him in market share in the Eugene Springfield Metro Area with Air America. Bring the KPOJ format to this geographic region that has more elected Democratic officials than any other metro area in Oregon.
We the undersigned on-line petitioners ask Cumulus Broadcasting in the name of fairness in the use of the public airwaves to bring Air America to the Eugene Springfield Metro area.
