Bring back Angus Henderson

Neighbours is a long running, popular Aussie soap opera which reaches the homes of millions of viewers across the world. Familiar couples which embody the very essence of the show (love, family relationships and the spirit of community) are Karl and Susan, Gail and Paul etc, however, a new couple has emerged- Rachel and Angus. The circumstances surrounding their relationship have been branded torrid by many, but they have come to be one of the shows most popular and explosive couples, and have been dubbed Rangus.
Their storylines have been some of the best the show has produced in years, and the new producer has pledged to take Neighbours back to its roots. Surely relationships are the root of every society, and such a popular relationship should be upheld and supported? Sadly, the writers and producers are not in agreement with the Rangus fans and have cruelly written Angus out of the show in order to encourage a relationship between Rachel, and new guy Ty. They have even set out to destroy Angus character by creating a devious and manipulative nature to him.
This is a petition for those who love Angus Henderson, and his portrayal by Jonathan Wood, and want to see him brought back to the show.
Here are our reasons for why Angus should be brought back, and Rangus should be reuinted once again:
1. The chemistry between Caitlin Stasey and Jonathan Wood is amazing, and their portrayal of Rangus is so believable and electrifying that despite all odds Rachel and Angus are a genuine and believable couple.
2. He should be brought back because as Angus put it only love matters. Love conquers all.
3. They are arguably one of the more popular couples and appeal to a wide selection of the audience.
4. Rangus are officially the cutest couple on TV.
5. Their episodes correspond with higher viewing figures.
6. Their relationship is the ultimate love story- a modern day version of Romeo and Juliet. This forbidden love story is exciting, invigorating and and the student-teacher twist adds extra drama.
7. They rile up the other residents of Ramsay Street with their antics, who wouldnt want to see Paul and Susan squaring off with each other?
8. The student-teacher twist is a relevant topic to todays society and by Neighbours addressing this very serious topic they have shown the consequences of such a relationship (with Angus spending time in jail), however, they have not even attempted to show the benefits and growth of such a relationship, which we would like to see.
9. There has recently been many departures in terms of males cast members and some hunks are seriously needed!
10. Angus is an interesting character with a lot of potential, unlike certain residents of Ramsay Street who shall remain unnamed.
11. Rachel and Angus forbidden love was a story that got many people hooked on the show, and arguably it has drawn in a much younger audience. Are we to lose these viewers now merely because the writers have written out Angus?
12. Bring Angus back to make Rachel happy- its about time she had some happiness with a string of deaths in her family and a turbulent upbringing.
13. There are a serious lack of men in Erinsborough that are on Rachels emotional and psychological wavelength.
14. The problem of ex-offenders trying to assimilate back into society isnt tackled enough in soaps.
15. Rangus are one of the few couples to openly express their feelings to one another, which embraces the idea of a modern love story and they are one of the few couples whose feelings are genuinely believeable.
16. If youre not a fan of either Ringo, Zeke, Karl and Susan and want to hear their moans and groans sign the petition.
17. To prove that age gap relationships do and can work.
18. Angus was Rachels first and hell always occupy a special place in her heart.
19. He sacrificed his career and life for Rachel- they deserve a happy ending. Life is not about pessimism and failure, its about hope and Rangus had that hope, a never-ending love for each other that digressed family, friends , age and culture.
20. Rachel and Angus complete each other. It is as simple as that.
