Selling shows by the season on DVD is an excellent way to give back to faithful viewers of your show. The West Wing is defintely worth owning all the episodes for. Look at the sucess of The X-Files, The Sopranos, Sex and the City and The Simpsons. DVD

"West Wing" is a show unlike any other. To not release the series seasonally is not only a grave mistake by the producers, it would be akin to the same producers taking their wallets/purses out and burning them out of spite.

You know what I like about this show? No violence, no sex, and it's STILL entertaining as hell. Don't get me wrong, I love sex and violence, but it's nice to know that you can avoid it and still make it interesting.
