Bush should not run for reelction

Zen Miller's speech on the need to back the president and not question current policy ignores history. The Democrats got us into Vietnam and it took a Republican to extricate us. However, in later years the Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara apologized for lying to us about the war and General Westmoreland agreed that casualty figures were distorted to appease the administration. Lyndon Johnson believed he could end the war in Vietnam through the sheer force of our military might. When the evidence made it clear that he was wrong, he had the courage to step aside and let the country choose a new leader. President Bush would due honor to himself and the country if he did the same.
