The Columbia and Western Rail Trail is an abandoned rail bed that runs between Castlegar and Christina Lake. Both motorized and non-motorized users have enjoyed it for several years since it was deactivated in 1991. Recently, Trails BC has erected signs stating the railway is to be used exclusively by non-motorized users. Trails BC has not consulted the public as to the designation of the trail, and through this process has discriminated against All Terrain Vehicle users.
I think the Columbia and Western Railway should be available for ALL users whether they ride a bicycle or ATV.
