Call for UNRWA Chief Peter Hansen to resign or be terminated by the UN

Dear Secretary-General Annan:
We the Undersigned, from all parts of the international community, call on all the United Nations and its members to heed the following call:
We hereby call on United Nations Head Peter Hansen of UNRWA to resign immediately. If he does not resign we ask that the UN terminate his mission in the Gaza Strip immediately. Mr Hansen's admissions below are one-sided and will not help the situation in the Middle East.
According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., Mr Hansen stated the following on October 3, 2004:
"Oh I am sure that there are Hamas members on the UNRWA payroll and I don't see that as a crime. Hamas as a political organization does not mean that every member is a militant and we do not do political vetting and exclude people from one persuasion as against another."
As the world knows there is no place for terrorists working with the UN in the Gaza Strip if there is to be any balance in the region. The actions and words of Mr. Hansen are a blight on the UN and all humanity. Canada is now actively investigating Mr. Hansen's words. All nations should do the same.
