To The Parliament of Canada:
I support the decriminalization of marijuana in Canada as it is now evident that the current penalties for cannabis possession in Canada outweigh any real danger presented by it's private and responsible use.
I am signing this petition to provide both the Justice Minister and the Government of Canada with some tangible proof that I will support a responsible policy of decriminalization at this time..
I would prefer that my tax resources be expended on more pressing criminal activity and I believe that removing personal possession charges for marijuana from the daily workload of my justice system and it's officers is a correct and wise course of action at this time..
I also believe decriminalization will greatly limit the involvement of organized crime in the cannabis trade in Canada as it will remove the profit motive from the distribution chain..
If this is a cause that is important to you - please also support our petition to release or remand Mike Patriquen who is now serving 6 YEARS on cannabis offenses in Canada..
