CAR SEAT SAFETY - MAKE IT THE LAW!

I am starting a petition to give to the government to make it the law that a child must meet TWO of the criteria to move from a rear-facing car seat to a forward, from a harness to a booster, and from a booster to nothing! In Ontario right now, a child can be under the age of 1 and legally move to a forward facing seat! Yet the pediatrics society says it's best to stay rear-facing until 2 years old! Why are we allowing parents to turn their kids before a year old just because they weigh more? They do not have the neck strength or maturity, no matter how much they weigh! It's also the "law" that you can move a child to a booster seat at 4, even if they're not weighing enough or tall enough! And you can put your 40lbs 2 year old in a booster seat, even though again, they do not have the maturity of body strength in the event of even a small crash to withstand it! And, you can put your 8 year old in nothing, even if they're not tall enough or weigh enough fo rthe seat belt to do it's job! DO THE RESEARCH! HELP US SHOW THE GOVERNMENT THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS LAW! Help us lower the cost of car seats and raise the safety! Spread the word!
