Casual Teaching Moratorium at La Trobe University

This semester there has been a moratorium on casual teaching and research assistance in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. A lack of casual teaching and research assistance affects our academic apprenticeships, deprives us of income many of us need to continue postgraduate study, and prevents us from accessing the supervision we need from overworked Faculty members. The Moratorium on casual teaching and research will have adverse consequences for the research profile and reputation of the Faculty within the university sector.

Action petitioned for: A formal written assurance that funds for casual teaching and research assistance will be available in 2012 and beyond.
